Terms and Conditions
Effective date: 16 June 2026
These terms apply to participation in the ICONIP 2026 AI Misinformation Resilience Challenge. By using the challenge portal, you agree to follow these rules.
Challenge Participation
- Use the challenge only for its intended educational, research, and competition purposes.
- Submit content that you are permitted to use.
- Do not interfere with the service, other participants, scoring systems, authentication, or infrastructure.
- Do not attempt to access another participant's account or private information.
Fair Play and Scoring
Points are intended to reward distinct, meaningful persuasion attempts and evidence.
You must not repeatedly submit the same or substantially similar material to gain additional points. This prohibition applies:
- within the same chat session
- across new or different chat sessions
- through direct copy and paste
- through minor edits, rewording, translation, formatting changes, or paraphrasing
- through repeated use of the same image, article, argument, media, source, or underlying evidence
- through multiple accounts or coordinated accounts used to recycle submissions
Starting a new chat does not make repeated evidence a new submission. Automated scoring may reduce or reject duplicate attempts, but receiving points from the AI does not make repeated or abusive submissions valid.
Challenge Token
The challenge may include a hidden token or flag that can be revealed by the AI when a challenge objective is reached or discovered through valid CTF play.
Finding, receiving, copying, or submitting the token means only that a challenge milestone has been reached or identified. The token is not a prize voucher, cash equivalent, payment code, ranking guarantee, or automatic entitlement to any prize.
Prize eligibility remains subject to leaderboard results, event rules, account eligibility, organizer review, and compliance with these Terms. Organizers may still withhold prizes, adjust scores, or disqualify participants if the token was obtained alongside abuse, repeated evidence, manipulation, multiple-account misuse, or other unfair conduct.
Prize Verification
Leaderboard positions are provisional until reviewed by the organizers.
Before prizes are awarded, organizers may manually review leading accounts, including at least the highest-ranked accounts, their chat history, evidence, scoring patterns, and related activity. Organizers may remove points, adjust rankings, withhold prizes, suspend accounts, or disqualify participants where they identify:
- repeated, copied, or paraphrased evidence
- spam or attempts designed mainly to farm points
- manipulation of scoring or technical systems
- use of multiple accounts to obtain an unfair advantage
- other conduct inconsistent with fair participation
The organizers' eligibility and prize decisions are final, subject to any applicable law or separately published event rules.
Uploaded Content
You retain responsibility for content you submit. You grant the organizers permission to store, process, and review submissions as needed to operate, secure, evaluate, research, and administer the challenge.
Do not upload confidential information, personal information about others, unlawful content, malware, or material that infringes another person's rights.
Availability and Changes
The service, challenge rules, scoring, prizes, and deadlines may be changed, paused, or discontinued when reasonably necessary for security, fairness, technical operation, or event administration.
